Friends since college, co-founders Jennifer Eident, Nora Bass and Lara Glaister reconnected over their shared passion to solve women’s needs through content, technology and design. Vixely was born out of their frustration over the lack of quality content for women in a voice that resonates and that is designed to fit our digital lives. They wanted to create a media experience that captures women’s real life experiences, as well as the questions and conversations they shared with their friends. They founded Vixely to create a tasteful, trusted source for fun, witty, intelligent, and female-positive content, and design each piece exclusively for the iPad and online.
Jennifer Eident, CEO & Co-Founder
Jen moved out to Silicon Valley from New York to receive her MBA at Stanford Business School and hasn’t looked back. Most recently, Jen served as Director of Marketing for XOJET. She was on the founding team of two previous start-ups and co-founded an innovation incubator between the Stanford Design School and GSB. Prior to Stanford, she worked in Investment Management at Cambridge Associates as well as for the High-Technology division of the Abu Dhabi government. She grew up in the United Arab Emirates and Connecticut. She is determined to be a hacker and loves a late night on W3Schools. As CEO, she swiftly enacted a strict No Pants Policy on Fridays.
Nora Bass, COO & Co-Founder
Nora came to Vixely from Lazard Capital Markets where she worked for the CEO analyzing corporate strategy and in Equity Research. For the past eight years, she has also served as a Product Strategist for BetterBranding, LLC, where she provided brand and product development consultation in Women’s Health. Previously, she worked in M&A Consulting for PwC. Nora is an avid reader of early 20th century philosophy on existentialism and the discovery of self through culture and society. She grew up traveling the world and speaking multiple languages, is a dedicated philanthropist and loves to dance until she literally passes out.
Lara Glaister, Director of Design & Co-Founder
Post History of Art at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Lara joined the contemporary art world working at Paul Kasmin Gallery. Having an urge to channel her creative side, she went onto Parson’s School of Design to study Costume History and Fashion Illustration. Most recently, Lara served as the Creative Director for the online fashion website, What2WearWhere. Bred by Brits yet born and raised in NYC, she grew up with eccentric weekends in Millbrook, NY and summers visiting family in England and the South of France. Her outlets from city-life include philanthropy and dancing to live music, preferably wearing a feathered-headdress in a sari surrounded by palm trees.
Dena Stern, Director of Content
Dena has lived in San Francisco most of her life, leaving only to attend Tulane University in New Orleans and to travel in Europe, Israel and Central America. Hoping to change the world at a grassroots level, Dena worked at a large community center where she built a cutting edge arts and culture program, pioneered their first social media program, launched a group for teen girls to talk about sex in a safe environment, and managed fundraising to provide preschool scholarships. In her most recent role as the Managing Editor at Exercise.com, she developed and managed the creation of all content, including articles, programs and videos. She has been featured as a guest writer for several online publications, including 24 Hour Fitness Magazine and Active.com. She is a voracious reader, a diehard SF Giants fan, a wannabe fashion blogger, an active tweeter and a terrible but enthusiastic snowboarder. Her passion for fitness continues with her (mandatory) Vixely team workouts.

Kate Kudish
As one of our multi-tasking Vixens, Kate learned the lay of the New York City land from a young age by way of trips from her rural home in Connecticut to the concrete jungle. Influenced by Picasso’s at the Guggenheim and all things MoMA, she went on to study the History of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she found a strong sentiment in the Midwest mentality of football (go Badgers!), craft beer, and brat eating. Kate uses Vixely as a forum for wit and humor surrounding dating and all things sexy, and often not-so sexy. She is a passionate foodie—everything from fine dining to food trucks—and likes to try (almost) everything once. Kate is an advocate of both cheese and whiskey, but never at the same time. Caitlin Thornton
Originally from Chicago, Caitlin is a Brooklyn-based writer whose interests vary as much as her story assignments. Before migrating to New York, Caitlin earned degrees in Journalism and Sociology with a concentration in gender and sexuality from Drake University where she penned papers on teenage sexuality, read a bevy of books on pornography, and interviewed many, many strippers. She’s blogged about style, design, and food as an online editor at former DIY darling ReadyMade and doles out advice for men over at Guyism.com. Caitlin has about fourteen new crushes a day, including nearly everyone who has been written about on the Vixely blog. Read all posts by Caitlin here.
